Bermuda is a small island chain located in the North Atlantic Ocean, about 640 miles (1,030 kilometers) east of the coast of North Carolina, United States. The islands of Bermuda have a total land area of about 20.6 square miles (53.3 square kilometers). The largest island in the chain is Main Island, which is also known as Bermuda. The other islands in the chain are much smaller and include Ireland Island, Boaz Island, and Somerset Island. Despite its small size, Bermuda is a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches, warm climate, and rich history.
